We survived another amazing Festy Experience here in Nelson County, VA. I managed to play more music onstage over 4 days than in any other point in history. 5 sets with the 'Dusters, Benny "Burle" Galloway and Friends set, songwriting workshop with Julie Lee and Benny Galloway, Benny Galloway and Travis Book play Alice, gospel set songs with Burle, Julie, Dustin Benson and the Shook Twins and a legendary Sunliner set. Much music was played and so many good times had. Please make plans to join us at the Concert Grounds at Devils Backbone next year, Columbus Day weekend, October 8-11.
I was lucky enough to be handpicked by Nathan Moore to play a song in his Blue Room recording session. Porto-Potty, Autoharp, lapel mic and a one-of-a-kind version of All The Same.
Excited for a great show this Saturday, October 18. I'm joining Broke Mountain Bluegrass Band alumni Jon Stickley and his Trio for a free afternoon show in Charlottesville.
October 1 Festy and Fall
In just over a week the Stringduster faithful descend on Nelson County, VA for the fifth annual Festy Experience. I'll be playing five sets with the 'Dusters, one set with Sunliner and a workshop presentation of The Music of Alice with longtime collaborator Benny "Burle" Galloway.
Once the dust settles on a most excellent Festy adventure, I'll be staying close to home with solo shows in Free Union, Staunton, Charlottesville, Roseland, Harrisonburg, Afton, Waynesboro, Arrington, and Crozet. First week of November I'll be in Colorado playing two shows with Everyone Orchestra as well as house concerts in Conifer and Denver. I'm planning a house concert tour this winter, if you'd be interested in hosting please drop me a line.
One more thing; I'm offering a promotion until The Festy. If you purchase anything from the Store, I'll throw in a hand-picked CD from my personal collection.
September 3 Fall Dates
In the midst of a couple weeks in Colorado playing with The Stringdusters, Sunliner, solo and in duos. Next week Benny "Burle" Galloway and I hit the road in Stella (the mini van) for 4 nights of intimate shows. There are still tickets and spots available, feel free to message me for more information.
I return to Virginia late in the month and will host my second StageIt concert, Booksy does Jerry, live from my living room. I'm going to play a handful of my favorite Jerry Garcia tunes, you can stream it from anywhere, click the link for reservations. Sunliner opens for my dear friends Leftover Salmon at The National in Richmond on September 26th and I'll be performing solo in Salem, VA at Parkway Brewing Co (10/3) as well as Democracy Vineyards (10/4) before Solo, Sunliner and Stringduster sets at The Festy Experience, our hometown festival, in Nelson County Virginia. Sunliner will be heading into the studio this fall as well as playing more dates in the VA/NC area and I'll be filling up my time with solo shows interspersed with Stringdusters shows in NYC, CO and Mexico. New Years plans to be announced soon as well.
